Kohl’s

Kohl's - KSS . NYSE

This is what I thought in September 2020 when I first bought the stock...

Kohl’s owns and operates a chain of department stores spread across the United States. With a focus on value-priced goods, they appeal to a more price conscious shopper and have done well in previous recessions. At the price of around $21.70 that I bought in at, the stock had a p:e of 4.3 to pre-covid earnings, a p:b of 0.7 and a reasonably modest debt load. I am banking on the idea that the department store concept is not entirely dead and that this company will continue and possibly even thrive on the other side of the pandemic crisis.
